ADEN, Yemen, July 15 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.0 magnitude struck off Yemen's eastern coasts on Sunday evening, a government official told Xinhua.
The epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 4:09 p.m. local time, was recorded off the coasts of Hadramout and Mahrah in the country's southeastern part, the local official said.
Local residents living in Hadramout's coastal areas confirmed to Xinhua by phone saying that "they felt a light ground shake that lasted about 10 seconds."
Earlier in the day, the U.S. Geological Survey reported that another earthquake of 6.2 magnitude happened 213 km northwest of Socotra island in the Gulf of Aden.
So far, no major damage or injuries were reported, and no tsunami warning has been issued. Enditem
